Salvage allows you to break down tools and armor into their base materials at a Salvage Anvil (a gold block). Unlike the Repair skill's iron block anvil, Salvage uses a gold block as its anvil.
XP is gained by successfully salvaging items at a Salvage Anvil (gold block).
Place a gold block down to create a Salvage Anvil. Hold the item you wish to salvage in your main hand and right-click the Salvage Anvil to break it down. You will receive base materials back based on your rank in Scrap Collector.
Items that are unbreakable or have custom model data (when disallowed by config) cannot be salvaged.

Scrap Collector determines how many materials you recover when salvaging an item. At rank 1 you recover a single material. Higher ranks recover progressively more materials (rank × 2 items). The amount recovered also depends on the item's remaining durability.

Arcane Salvage allows you to potentially extract enchantments from salvaged items as an enchanted book. Higher ranks improve your chances of success. There are three possible outcomes for each enchantment:
| Outcome | Description |
|---|---|
| Full Extract | The enchantment is preserved at its original level in the enchanted book. |
| Partial Extract | The enchantment is kept but downgraded by one level. |
| Lost | The enchantment is not recovered. |
Your Arcane Salvage rank increases the chance of full extraction and reduces enchantment loss.
